Football Recap: Weyauwega-Fremont Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Weyauwega-Fremont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 27-21 heartbreaker at the hands of the Amherst Falcons. The Warhawks were not able to make up for their loss to the Falcons from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Despite the loss, Weyauwega-Fremont still got an impressive performance from Carter Birdyshaw, who picked up 60 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 48 yards.

Weyauwega-Fremont now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Amherst, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Weyauwega-Fremont will host Loyal/Greenwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Amherst, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Stratford at 7:00 p.m. The Tigers' defense has only allowed 12.6 points per game this season, so the Falcons' offense will have their work cut out for them.
