Volleyball Recap: Morgan County Comes Up Short

Morgan County was the 3-0 winner over Oconee County when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bulldogs fell 2-0 to the Warriors on Tuesday. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The 2-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-22.

Leading Oconee County to victory were Cameron Webb and Sidney Tranel. Webb had five aces, while Tranel had five digs and two aces. Those five aces gave Webb a new career-high.

Morgan County's defeat dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Oconee County, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Morgan County will host East Jackson at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Oconee County, they will face off against Greene County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
