Basketball Game Preview: Cumberland Academy Knights vs. Kilgore Bulldogs

The Cumberland Academy Knights will head out on the road to challenge the Kilgore Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Cumberland Academy will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Henderson, who they had gone 1-7 against in their eight prior meetings. Cumberland Academy came out on top against Henderson by a score of 43-34 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Kilgore, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They took down Spring Hill 46-27 on Tuesday.

Kilgore's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-12. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Cumberland Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 9-15.

Cumberland Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Kilgore in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 42-36 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cumberland Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
