Basketball Recap: Abby Chaney's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Plainview over Kingston

Plainview was the 60-53 winner over Kingston when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Plainview Indians took a 60-42 bruising from the Kingston Redskins on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while the Redskins are ranked 43rd).

Plainview lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Abby Chaney, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten boards. Bailey Fincher was another key player, putting up eight points.

Even though they lost, Plainview smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive games.

Plainview now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Kingston, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-6.

Plainview will be playing at home against Byng at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Kingston has already played their next match (against Newcastle), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
