Basketball Recap: Chrisman Takes a Loss

On Thursday, the Chrisman Cardinals were beaten by the Watseka/Milford Warriors 53-23. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 672nd, while the Warriors are ranked 149th).

Chrisman's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jaidyn Alexander, who posted six points and four steals, and Adaleyn Miller, who put up two points in addition to five rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Taylor Jones, who scored four points.

Chrisman has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season. As for Watseka/Milford, the victory (which was their 18th in a row) raised their record to 20-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chrisman will welcome Georgetown-Ridge Farm at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Watseka/Milford, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Westville at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Watseka/Milford's favor as the team sits on seven straight wins at home while Westville has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
