Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Garland). They put the hurt on the Lakeview Centennial Patriots with a sharp 11-5 win on Friday. The Raiders not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 25, 2024.

Raul Puente was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Zion Naidoo also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

North Garland's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-12-2. As for Lakeview Centennial, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

North Garland will venture away from home to challenge Wylie East at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lakeview Centennial will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Naaman Forest at 7:00 p.m. on March 28th.
