Westinghouse had lost six straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 4-12 to make it seven. They fell just short of the Mather Rangers by a score of 5-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rangers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-2 last Thursday.

Noah Morales was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Josiah Allen also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

As for Mather, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games.

On Mather's side, David Goytia made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Goytia has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Mather: the team is undefeated when he posts at least one home run, but 7-10 otherwise.
