Baseball Recap: Trigg County Victorious

Trigg County owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They came out on top against the Stewart County Rebels by a score of 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-3 back in March.

Aidon Butts made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Trigg County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Stewart County, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-8.

Coming up, Trigg County will square off against Muhlenberg County at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Stewart County, they will take on Camden Central at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Rebels are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
