Volleyball Recap: Addison Zuther and Bristol Cawley Secure Win for Portage

Portage posted their closest win since September 13th on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Beaver Dam Golden Beavers 3-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Warriors also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2023.

Portage wouldn't go down easily and took Beaver Dam into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 26-24, 21-25, 22-25, 15-9.

Leading Portage to victory were Bristol Cawley and Addison Zuther. Cawley had 11 digs and one assist, while Zuther had 24 digs and 16 kills. Those 24 digs gave Zuther a new career-high.

Portage's win bumped their record up to 20-16. As for Beaver Dam, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-20 record this season.

Portage and Beaver Dam should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. The Warriors (ranked 150th) will meet Stoughton (ranked 309th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Beaver Dam will take on Randolph at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (137 vs. 304).
