Preview: Hicksville Aces vs. Pettisville Blackbirds
Hicksville is 8-1 against Pettisville since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Hicksville Aces will head out on the road to face off against the Pettisville Blackbirds at 7:30 p.m. Hicksville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Hicksville scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 57-56 victory over Bryan. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Hicksville found their leader in underclassman Garrett Turnbull, who scored 24 points along with five assists. The contest was Turnbull's third in a row with at least ten points. Austin Sanders was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Pettisville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 53-47 to Paulding.
The win got Hicksville back to even at 2-2. As for Pettisville, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 2-2.
Hicksville didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Pettisville in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 42-36 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hicksville since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
