Basketball Recap: Liberty Takes a Loss

Liberty saw some tournament action on Saturday. They were dealt a 66-31 defeat at the hands of the Madison Warhawks. The match marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Madison's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Runnar(Rj) Miller, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. Miller is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Adein Lea?E, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Liberty has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Madison, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.

Liberty will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Independence at 6:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025. Madison and Maranatha Christian will round out the year against one another at at 5:25 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Madison's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups.
