Overhills is 1-9 against E.E. Smith since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The two teams will face off at 6:00 p.m. without much rest, having both just played. Overhills will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
On Monday, Overhills took their matchup with ease, bagging a 78-39 victory over Western Harnett. The Jaguars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 games by 22 points or more this season.

Overhills' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Paris Autry, who posted 14 points and three steals. Autry is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last six games she's played. Gabby Frank was another key player, going 5-for-6 on her way to 12 points and four steals.
Meanwhile, E.E. Smith posted their closest victory since January 14th on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Triton, sneaking past 52-49. Given the Golden Bulls' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while the Hawks are ranked 358th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Overhills better keep an eye on Ka'Lyiah Speller. She was instrumental in E.E. Smith's win, dropping a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Those 19 points gave Speller a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Amy Boa, who put up 12 points and seven boards.
E.E. Smith smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Overhills' win bumped their record up to 17-8. As for E.E. Smith, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 14-9.
Keep an eye on the arc in Tuesday's contest: Overhills has been dynamite from deep this season, having made 43.9% of their three-pointers per game. It's a different story for E.E. Smith, though, as they've only made 27.7% of their threes this season. Given Overhills' sizable advantage in that area, E.E. Smith will need to find a way to close that gap.
