Chino Valley was handed a seven-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over the Camp Verde Cowboys. The Cougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cowboys, too.

Caden Todd made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. Todd was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Todd wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Freddie Garcia, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Ryan Lamotte was another, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Chino Valley now has a winning record of 4-3-1. As for Camp Verde, their loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chino Valley will host River Valley at 3:45 p.m. on March 25th. River Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season. As for Camp Verde, they will welcome Payson at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
