Softball Game Preview: Ranchview Wolves vs. Aubrey Chaparrals

The Ranchview Wolves will take on the Aubrey Chaparrals at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Ranchview's hitters has struggled lately (they haven't scored a run in three consecutive games), something the team is no doubt ready to change.

Friday just wasn't the day for Ranchview's offense. They lost 15-0 to Krum on Friday.

Meanwhile, Aubrey got the win against Panther Creek on Friday by a conclusive 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Chaparrals, who have now won seven matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Mya Cherry made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. What's more, she gave up only zero walks, the fewest she's had over her last nine contests. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carmen Alexander, who scored four runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sophia Mulhern, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Aubrey always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Panther Creek only posted an OBP of .211.

The victory made it two in a row for Aubrey and bumps their season record up to 14-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Ranchview, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.
