Hillcrest is a perfect 4-0 against Vista del Lago since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Trojans are taking a road trip to face off against the Ravens at 3:15 p.m. Hillcrest is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.

Hillcrest was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Perris on Tuesday. The Trojans were the clear victors by an 18-5 margin over the Panthers. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won three in a row.

Aiden Caloca was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was James Henson, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one double.

Hillcrest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .657. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Vista del Lago faced off against Rancho Christian on Tuesday. The Ravens came up short against the Eagles, falling 25-3.

Vista del Lago has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Hillcrest, their win bumped their record up to 15-7-1.

Vista del Lago's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hillcrest has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Vista del Lago, though, as they've been averaging 8.7 hits. Given Hillcrest's sizable advantage in that area, the Ravens will need to find a way to close that gap.

Hillcrest took their victory against Vista del Lago in their previous meeting on April 10th by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
