Volleyball Game Preview: Ellendale Cardinals vs. Aberdeen Christian Knights

The Ellendale Cardinals will head out to challenge the Aberdeen Christian Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Ellendale beat Wyndmere/Lidgerwood 3-1.

The win didn't come easy: Wyndmere/Lidgerwood scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-18, 16-25, 25-20, 25-19.

Ellendale's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alivia Knutson led the charge by getting four digs and two aces. That's the most digs Knutson has posted over her last nine matches.

Meanwhile, Aberdeen Christian entered their tilt with Ipswich on Tuesday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Tigers.

Aberdeen Christian walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-21, 17-25, 25-22.

Aberdeen Christian's victory bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Ellendale, their win bumped their record up to 17-10.

Everything went Ellendale's way against Aberdeen Christian when the teams last played back in October of 2015, as Ellendale made off with a 3-0 victory. Will the Cardinals repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
