The Boulder Panthers will challenge the Westminster Wolves at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Boulder is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.
Boulder came out on top against Riverdale Ridge on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Panthers took their contest against the Ravens 6-3.
Finn Torvik made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Torvik was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Toby Schoenfeld and Sam Skubic did most of the damage at the plate: Schoenfeld went 3-for-4 with two runs and two doubles, while Skubic went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Westminster fell victim to Horizon and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 13-0 to the Hawks. The Wolves' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Boulder is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Westminster, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-14.
Westminster's pitching crew better be locked in on Friday. Boulder hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. It's a different story for Westminster, though, as they've been averaging only 0 home runs. Will they be able to keep Boulder in the park?
Boulder skirted past Westminster 6-5 in their previous meeting back in April. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
