McDowell is 6-1 against Mitchell since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Titans will head out on the road to take on the Mountaineers at 5:00 p.m. McDowell is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
R-S Central hit McDowell with a nine-run third inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Titans fell 14-10 to the Hilltoppers.

Jacob Davis made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-5 with three RBI and two doubles. He has become a key player for McDowell: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three RBI, but 6-12 otherwise.
Meanwhile, Mitchell got the win against Avery County on Tuesday by a conclusive 15-4. Considering the Mountaineers have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Mitchell also got a great performance from Hudson Buchanan as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits.
At the plate, AJ Mackey was a standout: he fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Kaj Pitman was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.
Mitchell lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
The win made it two in a row for Mitchell and bumps their season record up to 12-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for McDowell, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.
Wednesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. McDowell has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .434. However, it's not like Mitchell struggles in that department as they've averaged .434. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
McDowell couldn't quite get it done against Mitchell in their previous matchup back in March as they fell 10-6. Can the Titans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
