Baseball Game Preview: St. Clair Bulldogs vs. Northwest Lions

The St. Clair Bulldogs will challenge the Northwest Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. St. Clair will be strutting in after a win while Northwest will be coming in after a defeat.

On Tuesday, St. Clair was able to grind out a solid victory over Herculaneum, taking the game 5-2. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Black Cats: they've now won three in a row.

Clayton Ingram spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because St. Clair is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 5-11 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Easton Martin, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last nine matches. Bo Robbins was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs.

Meanwhile, Northwest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 6-0 to Pacific.

St. Clair's victory bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Northwest, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-17.
