Baseball Recap: Cambria Heights Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Cambria Heights had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They blew past the Purchase Line Red Dragons 13-1. The Highlanders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Red Dragons, too.

Bryce Lewis was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Those two hits allowed gave him a new career-low. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Carson Lobick was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-5. Those hits marked the first that he got this season. Another player making a difference was Stephen Nelen, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Cambria Heights' win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Purchase Line, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cambria Heights will challenge Moshannon Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Purchase Line, they will be playing at home against Blacklick Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
