Basketball Recap: Kelly Walsh Sets Scoring Season-High Against Rock Springs

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kelly Walsh). They took down the Rock Springs TIGERS 74-57 on Saturday. This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the TIGERS back in January, they had to take a 64-54 defeat.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kelly Walsh to victory, but perhaps none more so than Logan Atnip, who went 6-for-7 to rack up 17 points and six boards. Thanks to that strong game, Atnip now owns an excellent 40.9% three-point shooting accuracy. Carter Alvar was another key player, going 5-for-7 en route to 15 points and seven rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Rock Springs lost, don't look at Sam Lionberger. Despite the final result, he went 9-for-20 on his way to 27 points in addition to eight boards and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Eddy, who posted six points and five steals.

Kelly Walsh now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Rock Springs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-9.
