Recap: Classen SAS Comets vs. Mustang Broncos
After a string of five wins, the Classen SAS Comets's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell to Mustang 50-46.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mustang to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cherish Haywood, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Haywood is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Mya Alston, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Classen SAS's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Mustang, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Classen SAS will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Broken Arrow on Friday. Hopefully Broken Arrow focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Thursday. Mustang won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Seiling at 7:00 p.m. on December 29, 2023. Seiling has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
