Mitchell has no trouble against East Wilkes

Recap: Mitchell Mountaineers vs. East Wilkes Cardinals
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Mitchell Mountaineers walked away with it. They enjoyed a cozy 33-15 victory over East Wilkes on Friday. The win was familiar territory for Mitchell who now have three in a row.
Mitchell had a senior duo take command as Rylan Cooper rushed for 162 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry and Chase Duncan rushed for 157 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. Duncan's longest rush was for an incredible 85 yards.
Despite the defeat, East Wilkes saw an underclassman step up: Reece Dobbins rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
Mitchell's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for East Wilkes, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
Mitchell will head out on the road to face off against Mount Airy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mount Airy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten games -- so hopefully Mitchell likes a good challenge. East Wilkes does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
