Basketball Game Preview: Platte County Pirates vs. Raytown Bluejays

The Platte County Pirates are taking a road trip to challenge the Raytown Bluejays at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, Platte County humbled Belton with a 58-28 victory. Given Platte County's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while Belton is ranked 399th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Raytown can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They walked away with a 48-35 win over Truman.

Platte County has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Raytown, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-8.

Everything came up roses for Platte County against Raytown in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 51-7 win. Will Platte County repeat their success, or does Raytown have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
