It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Cathedral had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Lake Central Indians. Winning may never get old, but the Fighting Irish sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Cathedral was led to victory by Jake Werne and Nick Whitley. Werne had 11 digs and three assists, while Whitley had seven digs and four aces. That's the most digs Werne has posted since May 6th.
Cathedral's win bumped their record up to 31-5. As for Lake Central, they moved to 29-7 with that loss, which also ended their ten-game winning streak.
Cathedral wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Roncalli on the 31st. Lake Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
