Baseball Game Preview: New York Mills Eagles vs. South Ridge Panthers

The New York Mills Eagles will square off against the South Ridge Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

New York Mills' pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Pillager. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Meanwhile, South Ridge made easy work of Moose Lake/Willow River on Monday and carried off a 15-9 win. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Rebels: they've now won five in a row.

South Ridge's win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for New York Mills, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 7-3.

New York Mills skirted past South Ridge 3-2 when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
