Basketball Game Preview: Holt Rams vs. Waverly Warriors

The Holt Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Waverly Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Holt didn't have too much trouble with DeWitt as they won 55-38. The contest marked the Rams' most dominant win of the season.

Meanwhile, Waverly waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They took down the Lakers 79-65. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Lakers are ranked 124th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Holt is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points per game. As for Waverly, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2.

Holt was taken down by Waverly 82-47 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Holt avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
