Softball Game Preview: Plattsburgh Hornets vs. Ticonderoga Sentinels

The Plattsburgh Hornets will face off against the Ticonderoga Sentinels at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Plattsburgh has given up an average of 8.4 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Plattsburgh fell victim to Saranac and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 12-0 to the Spartans. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Meanwhile, Ticonderoga put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Moriah get on the board and left with a 20-0 win. The Sentinels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

Ticonderoga's victory was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0. As for Plattsburgh, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-4.

Plattsburgh came out on top in a nail-biter against Ticonderoga in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 11-9. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Sentinels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
