Baseball Recap: Fenwick Picks Up Third Straight Win on the Road

Fenwick had won three straight on the road, but on Thursday they bumped their record up to 15-13-1 to make it four. They walked away with an 8-5 win over the Aurora Central Catholic Chargers. The Friars haven't had any issues with the Chargers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Josh Morgan was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted over his last 11 matches. Another player making a difference was Andrew Henderson, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

As for Aurora Central Catholic, they now have a losing record of 14-15. The defeat continues a trend for them in their meetings with Fenwick: they've now lost three in a row.

On Aurora Central Catholic's side, Brodie Curry made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Curry is becoming a predictor of the Chargers' success: when he posts at least one home run the team is 2-1 (and 12-14 when he doesn't). Marcos Pena also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Looking ahead, Fenwick will head out to square off against Chicago Hope Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Aurora Central Catholic will be paying especially close attention to the Friars' game: after the Friars face off against Chicago Hope Academy, they'll take on Aurora Central Catholic again at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
