Baseball Recap: Santa Fe Comes Up Short

Santa Fe lost against California back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Chiefs fell just short of the Condors by a score of 4-3. The Chiefs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

James Rubio was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Nicolas Alvarez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Santa Fe's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for California, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Santa Fe beat the Condors by a score of 12-2 on Friday.
