There's no place like home for Grosse Ile, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They breezed past the Milan Big Reds to the tune of 30-0 on Friday. The Red Devils were shut out 27-0 the last time they took on the Big Reds, so the Red Devils were just returning the favor.

Tanner Symons looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 25 yards and a pair of TDs, while also throwing for 169 yards and one touchdown. Rocco Cappelino also helped with two scores in total.

Grosse Ile didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Milan to a completion percentage of just 42.1%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from three players: Michael Nappa, William Weise, and Cooper Mott, who each logged one passes deflected. Grosse Ile wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 53.8%.

Grosse Ile didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Cappelino and Mott. Cappelino got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Grosse Ile's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Milan, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Grosse Ile will venture away from home to take on Airport at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Red Devils will be up against the Jets' rather soft defense (which has allowed 42.6 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Milan, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against St. Mary Catholic Central at 7:00 p.m. The Falcons/Kestrels' defense has only allowed 11.8 points per game this season, so the Big Reds' offense will have their work cut out for them.
