Preview: Heritage Academy Eagles vs. Mountain Ridge Miners
The Heritage Academy Eagles and the Mountain Ridge Miners will round out the year against one another at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at. Heritage Academy is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
Heritage Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 20 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 63-43 margin over GVCS Broadfording. Given Heritage Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while GVCS Broadfording is ranked 211th), the result last Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Mountain Ridge came up short against Tucker County last Friday and fell 60-50.
Despite the defeat, Mountain Ridge got a solid performance out of Will Patterson, who scored 17 points. Cameron Breighner was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Heritage Academy's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0. As for Mountain Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
