Last Wednesday, David Crockett strolled past Tennessee with points to spare, taking the game 55-38. Given the Pioneers' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Vikings are ranked 132nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead David Crockett to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brylee Tullock, who shot 50% from the field en route to 15 points and seven boards. The contest was Tullock's ninth in a row with at least 15 points. Lacey Byrd was another key player, going 5-for-9 on her way to 14 points and seven rebounds.

David Crockett smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 20 consecutive games.

Meanwhile, despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Cocke County couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 53-50 on Wednesday. The Fighting Cocks' loss signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.

Cocke County's defeat dropped their record down to 28-7. As for David Crockett, their win bumped their record up to 33-3.
