Baseball Recap: Forest Hills Takes Down West Shamokin in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Forest Hills rose to the challenge on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the West Shamokin Wolves. The result was nothing new for the Rangers, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Chase Williamson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Nate Cornell was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Maddox Dombrosky was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Forest Hills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Shamokin only posted an OBP of .250.

Forest Hills has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for West Shamokin, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-8.

As of now, neither Forest Hills nor the Wolves have any future games scheduled.
