Volleyball Game Preview: Miami Trace Panthers vs. Unioto Shermans

The Miami Trace Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Unioto Shermans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Miami Trace will be strutting in after a victory while Unioto will be coming in after a loss.

Miami Trace will bounce into Thursday's match after beating Athens, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Panthers walked away with a 3-1 win over the Bulldogs on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-19, 15-25, 25-10.

Meanwhile, Unioto unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-match winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Westfall by a score of 3-2.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Unioto sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-27, 25-14, 23-25, 15-8.

Miami Trace will need to focus on slowing down Libby Anderson, one of several Unioto players who made an impact when they last played. She had ten digs and three aces. Anderson has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Depoy, who had 11 digs and one assist.

Unioto's defeat dropped their record down to 18-4. As for Miami Trace, their victory bumped their record up to 15-6.
