Lowell extended their winning streak to eight on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 10-3 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 9-8 W against the Oakland Oakers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-2 two weeks ago.

Zak Hermansen was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Barrett Straight was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

As for Oakland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

On Oakland's side, they got a good showing from Gaige Perry, who pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Perry has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Gavin Williams made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Andrew Mason, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lowell will welcome North Douglas at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Oakland, they will host Illinois Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Oakers are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
