Recap: Apprentice Academy Red Wolves vs. Piedmont Community Charter Patriots
This season hasn't been kind to the Apprentice Academy Red Wolves, who are still winless after their seventh contest. They had to suffer through a rough 92-35 loss at the hands of Piedmont Community Charter. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Apprentice Academy in their matchups with Piedmont Community Charter: they've now lost five in a row.
Piedmont Community Charter's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was TJ Biggers, who scored ten points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Biggers grabbed two or more steals. Bobby Erwin was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Apprentice Academy's defeat was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-7. As for Piedmont Community Charter, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 12-3.
Apprentice Academy will head out on the road to square off against Sugar Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Piedmont Community Charter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Carolina International at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
