Basketball Recap: Cotulla Takes a Loss

After flying high against Lutheran on Friday, Cotulla came back down to earth. The Cowboys had to suffer through an 87-48 loss at the hands of the St. Paul Cardinals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 78-55 on Thursday.

Despite the defeat, Cotulla had strong showings from Jamarkuz Ramirez, who posted 18 points, and Rene Barrera, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 12 boards. Ramirez's big performance that afternoon made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. Krish Patel was another key player, putting up eight points.

Cotulla's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for St. Paul, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

Cotulla has already played their next contest, a 65-49 victory against Weimar on the 13th. As for St. Paul, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 70-49 win against Yorktown on the 13th.
