Softball Game Preview: Easton Area Rovers vs. Bethlehem Catholic Hawks

The Easton Area Rovers will take on the Bethlehem Catholic Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Easton Area and three for Bethlehem Catholic.

Easton Area made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Liberty, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Rovers fell just short of the Hurricanes by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday.

Easton Area saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kailyn Castellano, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Bethlehem Catholic came up short against Freedom on Tuesday, falling 20-4.

Bethlehem Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Easton Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Easton Area has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 12.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Bethlehem Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Easton Area beat Bethlehem Catholic 4-0 in their previous meeting on April 14th. Do the Rovers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
