Baseball Recap: Coffee County Central Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Coffee County Central hadn't done well against Lincoln County recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Red Raiders walked away with a 6-2 win over the Falcons. The victory was familiar territory for the Red Raiders, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Davis McKenzie made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs.

In other batting news, Landan Abellana was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season. Chase Leonard was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

Coffee County Central's record is now 20-11. As for Lincoln County, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 23-8.

Coffee County Central will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Falcons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
