Softball Game Preview: Derby Red Raiders vs. Ansonia Chargers

For the second straight game, Derby will face off against Ansonia. The Red Raiders will host the Chargers at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Derby is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.

On Thursday, Derby didn't have quite enough to beat Ansonia and fell 16-15. Even if the Red Raiders couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Derby got a massive performance out of Ari McNeill, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma DeSanty, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Derby's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Ansonia, they moved to 4-11 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
