Basketball Game Preview: Brantley Bulldogs vs. Kinston Bulldogs

Brantley has won three straight games at home, while Kinston has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Brantley Bulldogs will host the Kinston Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Last Saturday, Brantley was fully in charge, breezing past Red Level 46-15. That looming 46-15 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bulldogs yet this season.

Myia Mount and Alex Grimes were among the main playmakers for Brantley as the former dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds and the latter went 6 of 14 on her way to 15 points and five rebounds. Mount has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more boards the last ten times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of CoCo Stamps, who posted eight points along with seven boards and four steals.

Brantley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 15 consecutive games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kinston). They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Emmanuel Christian 75-6. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Kinston's win bumped their record up to 17-0. As for Brantley, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.

Brantley beat Kinston 45-34 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Will Brantley repeat their success, or does Kinston have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
