Baseball Recap: Palatine's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

After a string of six wins, Palatine's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Dundee-Crown Chargers by a score of 7-6. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.

Jett Greiwe made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Carter Monroe was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Palatine's defeat dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Dundee-Crown, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Palatine will head out to take on Barrington at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. The Fillies/Broncos' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Pirates' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Dundee-Crown, they will face off against McHenry at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
