Softball Recap: Dublin Gaels vs. San Ramon Valley Wolves
Dublin had lost five straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 1-12 to make it six. They lost 15-1 to the San Ramon Valley Wolves. If the Gaels were looking for revenge after losing 6-4 to the Wolves when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Dublin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sydney Salazar, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
As for San Ramon Valley, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-6-2. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won seven matches by six runs or more so far this season.
On San Ramon Valley's side, Lila McLeod looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). McLeod has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Addie Layous and Brianna Schapiro did most of the damage at the plate: Layous went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Schapiro went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and two RBI. That's the most runs Schapiro has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gia Ryan, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
