Baseball Recap: Boulder City Has No Trouble Against Chaparral

Boulder City won the last time they faced Chaparral and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over the Cowboys. Considering the Eagles have won eight matchups by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Will Teeples tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Gavin Robinson was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Boulder City is 8-2 when Robinson posts two or more runs, but 5-8 otherwise. Gauge Andrews was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Boulder City kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 10-3 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory made it two in a row for Boulder City and bumps their season record up to 13-10. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Chaparral, they dropped their record down to 2-14 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.
