Softball Recap: Parchment Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Parchment dropped their record down to 9-8-1 on Thursday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 12-6 to the Hopkins Vikings. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Panthers have suffered since April 13, 2024.

As for Hopkins, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-11-1 record this season. The result was nothing new for Hopkins, who have now won 13 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

For Hopkins' part, Gracie Stallard spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Hopkins got a massive performance out of Lyla Reynolds, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits Reynolds has posted over her last 12 games. The team also got some help courtesy of Cami Hibma, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Looking ahead, Parchment is taking a road trip to face off against Martin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hopkins, they will be playing at home against Fruitport at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
