Baseball Recap: Southwest Extends Winning Streak to Three

It's playoff time, and Southwest had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the South Dade Buccaneers by a score of 7-2 on Thursday. The victory was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won three contests in a row.

Kaleb Hernandez looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Max Rico was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Pedro Martinez, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Southwest's record is now 16-9. As for South Dade, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-13.

As of now, neither Southwest nor the Buccaneers have any future games scheduled.
