Basketball Recap: Tumwater Sets Scoring Season-High Against Centralia

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tumwater). They claimed a resounding 78-42 win over the Centralia Tigers. With the Thunderbirds ahead 43-21 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Tumwater got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Landon Anchors out in front who went 5 for 8 en route to 15 points and three steals. That's the most points Anchors has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Bryce Morgan, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 11 points and three steals.

Tumwater smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Tumwater pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Centralia, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tumwater will square off against Black Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Black Hills will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Tumwater surely won't give up without a fight. As for Centralia, they will face off against Shelton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
