Football Game Preview: Fort Morgan Mustangs vs. Eaton Reds + How To Watch

The Fort Morgan Mustangs are taking a road trip to challenge the Eaton Reds at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Fort Morgan was able to grind out a solid victory over Skyview, taking the game 20-12. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Wolverines: they've now won three in a row.

Fort Morgan's defense made their presence known, laying out Carlos Carillo. three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Quintin Aleman, Jj Marquez, and Juan Sanchez-Calvillo Iii, who each picked up one sack apiece. Austin Hall got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Eaton against Platte Valley two weeks ago as the team secured a 40-7 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Reds' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Broncos are ranked 133rd).

Eaton's win came from a few key players Fort Morgan will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jackson Savona, who rushed for 106 yards and three scores. Those 106 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Max Blaskowski, who picked up 106 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Eaton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 232 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 168 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Fort Morgan's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Eaton, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Fort Morgan couldn't quite finish off Eaton when the teams last played back in September of 2024 and fell 14-12. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
