Baseball Recap: Riverside Comes Up Short

Riverside fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Old Forge on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 3-2. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Blue Devils when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Riverside dropped their record down to 6-4 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Old Forge, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Riverside will take on rival Western Wayne at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Old Forge is set to square off against their familiar foe Mid Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Blue Devils 2.7, the Spartans 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
